Owner's comments
Used Sun Odyssey 379 for sale
I am offering for sale my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379, a 2013 model in the 2-cabin and 1-head version. This sailboat, designed to combine comfort and performance, is equipped with a Webasto heating system for pleasant sailing even in cool weather, as well as a water heater for optimal onboard comfort. The hi-fi system and TV antenna complete the leisure equipment.
Engine and maintenance
This Sun Odyssey 379 is powered by a Yanmar 29 hp engine with sail drive transmission and a three-blade folding propeller, ideal for optimizing performance under sail. The sail drive seal was replaced in 2020, and maintenance is carried out regularly by a Yanmar agent, ensuring unmatched reliability. The diesel tank has a capacity of 200 litres, providing extended range.
Navigation and safety equipment
This sailboat is perfectly equipped for navigation and safety. It features an electric windlass and a complete primary anchoring system, along with all mandatory safety equipment. The forestay was replaced in 2023, and a lower stay was also installed the same year, reinforcing the rigging structure.
For energy, the battery bank was renewed in 2023, along with a charger, a shore power inlet, and a battery combiner. Two Victron 170 W solar panels ensure autonomous energy production, ideal for extended cruising.
The navigation instruments include a VHF with AIS transceiver, an autopilot, a GPS plotter with a cockpit table mount, a depth sounder, a log-speedometer, and a wind vane-anemometer with repeaters. For comfort, a cockpit shower and a swim ladder are also included.
Comfort and sail inventory
This Sun Odyssey 379 offers a 330-litre freshwater capacity thanks to its two tanks, an asset for long voyages. The sail inventory is complete and well-maintained: roller furling genoa, spinnaker with pole, full-batten mainsail, as well as a storm jib and a staysail to adapt to all wind conditions.
The last antifouling was carried out in March 2026, ensuring a hull in perfect condition for immediate sailing.
History of the Jeanneau shipyard and the Sun Odyssey 379 model
Founded in 1957 by Henri Jeanneau, the Jeanneau shipyard is one of the world leaders in recreational boatbuilding. Based in Les Herbiers, Vendée, the shipyard quickly distinguished itself through innovation and the quality of its boats, becoming a benchmark in the sector. Today, Jeanneau is part of the Beneteau group while retaining its unique identity and expertise.
The Sun Odyssey 379 was produced between 2010 and 2016, succeeding the Sun Odyssey 37 and preceding the Sun Odyssey 389. This model achieved great success thanks to its modern design, created by the Philippe Briand design office, and its ergonomic cockpit, offering an excellent balance between performance and comfort. Designed for coastal and offshore cruising, the Sun Odyssey 379 stands out for its ease of handling, its bright interior, and its functional layout. It was primarily built in France, but also in other countries such as Poland, where Jeanneau has production units to meet international demand.
Key strengths of this Sun Odyssey 379:
This Sun Odyssey 379 offers several major advantages for sailors. Its well-maintained Yanmar 29 hp engine and its recent sail drive transmission ensure reliable propulsion. The Victron solar panels and the battery bank renewed in 2023 provide optimal energy autonomy. The complete sail inventory, including a roller furling genoa and a spinnaker with pole, allows adaptation to all sailing conditions. Finally, the comfort equipment such as the Webasto heating system, the water heater, and the 330-litre freshwater capacity make it an ideal boat for extended cruising.
