Comments :

Mercator 105 built in Lorient in 2008 currently under the Belgian flag. It is a very strong thick aluminum twin keel.
It measures 10.50 m for a width of 4 m which makes it a bulky boat therefore with a very large space to live in.
It is rigged with a jib and staysail on furlers. The mainsail is fully battened with automatic reefing. Sail area: 75 m2. The mast measures 15 m.
It weighs around 8.5 tonnes.
It has a 40 hp engine with a fuel capacity of almost 500l.
After receiving the empty hull in June 2007, fitting out 2000 hours of work.
Finishing work to be planned for the fittings.
1 square with a large table around which can sit up to 8 people without being too crowded; it also serves as a work table for my crafts.
One person can sleep on a bench in the saloon. There is also plenty of storage, mainly occupied by books and chests under the benches.
- 1 forward cabin (Breton bed) with double berth and storage.
- 1 aft cabin with double berth (storage space not yet made)
- 1 kitchen with double sink, gas stove with oven, storage. No, there is no fridge!
- 1 toilet area with wc, sink, shower not yet installed. No, there is no hot water! If necessary, it can be heated on the stove or on the stove.
- 1 large hold at the rear in which I can put lots of things: 3 folding kayaks, bicycle, snowshoes, tools, all kinds of equipment, reserves, etc ...
- 1 navigation area with chart table, electronic navigation instruments (GPS, radar, Navtex, depth sounder, autopilot, VHF radio), interior helm (2 CV steering wheel!), Storage, electrical panel, and comfortable height-adjustable seat to be able to see outside.
This boat has an almost panoramic view from inside, a guarantee of comfort and safety when you intend to sail in regions where it is not always very hot.
A heater: diesel stove (taken from the engine tank), small, efficient, silent, low-consumption and does not require electricity for its operation. There is a handy, gas-saving hob.
Furthermore, the boat is very well insulated, including double glazing on the large, non-opening portholes and the deck hatches.
A quick word about electricity:
There are 4 batteries: one for the engine, one for the windlass (winch used to raise the anchor) and 2 for the rest of the electrical equipment: navigation instruments, lighting, music, computer, recharging (telephone, i pod, camera, camera, drill, etc ...).
The batteries can be recharged by the engine alternator, wind turbine and solar panel.
All the lights use LEDs to have the lowest possible power consumption.
Boat weight: 8.5 t
Work to be done :
Replacing the batteries
Engine oil change + filters
Rinsing the water tanks
Small repair on the mainsail
Replace the anodes (the new ones are in the boat)
Overhaul of the liferaft
Inventory in PJ
