Sale of my BENETEAU OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER
I am selling my BENETEAU OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER, a boat I bought new in 2004 in La Rochelle. It is a 2-cabin version, particularly spacious and bright. This version offers a very large aft cabin and as the saloon is convertible, it is possible to sleep 6 people.
Technical Specifications
My OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER measures 11.62 meters in length for 3.96 meters in width and a draft of 1.90 meters. The headroom is 1.98 meters, and the air draft is 15.65 meters. The weight of the boat is approximately 10,000 kg.
This boat is classified CE 0607 and can accommodate up to 8 people in category A, 10 people in category B and 12 people in category C. The hull number is FR-BEYA2567E303, and it was built in 2003. It is a first owner, owner-occupied sailboat, never rented!
Engine and Maintenance
The engine is a VOLVO D2-55 MS 25 with a power of 55 HP and a shaft drive transmission. The propeller is a 3-blade fixed, and the fuel capacity is 150 liters of diesel. The exhaust system was replaced in 2025, and the boat is maintained by a shipyard with a complete history of invoices.
The engine hour meter is out of order, but I estimate its hours to be 400 h / 450 hours maximum, probably less. The PLASTIMO life raft for 6 people is serviced and valid until 2028.
Interior Layout
My OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER has 2 cabins, including a large aft starboard cabin and a bright forward cabin with a double bed, bench, wardrobe, adjacent bathroom and WC with black water.
The salon is spacious and bright with a wooden table and original blue cushions in good condition. The saloon can be converted into a 2-berth, thus allowing 6 possible berths. The kitchen is located in the companionway on the port side and includes a double stainless steel sink with mixer, a seawater pump, a 100-liter refrigerator, a large cooler of 220 liters (it is possible to install a cooling unit in the cooler), and an ENO gimballed stove with oven and 2 gas burners.
The boat is equipped with an air heater WEBASTO throughout the boat and a CD radio.
Navigation Equipment
The chart table on the starboard side includes original navigation tools from 2003. The boat is equipped with a VHF NAVICOM RT 450 DSC, RAYMARINE repeaters, an autopilot ST 6001, a FURUNO GP-1650 W color chartplotter, a FURUNO 1623 radar, a FURUNO NX-300 Navtex, and a CD radio with external speakers.
The electrical panel is complete with 12V/220V differential circuit breaker, 12V>220V converter, navigation lights, battery charger controller, water tank (2 x 250 liters for a total of 500 liters), and 2 batteries (1 dedicated to the engine and 1 for service).
Exterior Equipment
The boat has a classic mainsail semi-battened in thick dacron (original 2003 - good condition), a mainsail cover in burgundy (good condition), a furling genoa (original 2003 - good condition), and a roof cover in burgundy with central opening and stainless steel handrail.
There are 2 LEWMAR 40 ST roof winches and 2 LEWMAR 53 ST cockpit winches, original standing rigging, an inflatable dinghy for 4 people, an electric windlass with 30 m of 10 mm chain, and a PLASTIMO 6-person life raft - serviced and valid until 2028. The hull was scrubbed by the owner in 2010 and painted with epoxy.
Why is this boat interesting to buy?
My BENETEAU OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER is a particularly interesting boat to buy for several reasons. First, it is in excellent condition thanks to rigorous maintenance by the same shipyard for 20 years, with a complete history of invoices. The VOLVO D2-55 engine is reliable and well-maintained, with a recently replaced exhaust system. The life raft is serviced and valid until 2028, providing additional safety.
Moreover, the boat has a cockpit and deck in teak, which adds a touch of elegance and durability. The interior layout is spacious and bright, with 2 cabins and 2 bathrooms, allowing up to 6 people to sleep. The navigation equipment is complete and modern, including renowned brands such as FURUNO and RAYMARINE.
Finally, the OCEANIS 393 CLIPPER has been little used, with only local cruises in Brittany, the English Channel, and the Channel Islands, totaling only 4500 nautical miles. It is a boat that has not been overworked, hence its good condition today. I am selling this boat reluctantly, but it is time for me to hand it over to a new owner who will be able to fully enjoy it.
I do not have a survey report for my boat that I bought new in 2004, however I recommend that the buyer have the boat surveyed before the final purchase, and to contact a marine surveyor accredited by insurers, a surveyor of their choice who will be authorized to determine the general condition of the vessel.
