HATTERAS 53 CLASSIC
  • HATTERAS 53 CLASSIC

    Information provided by the owner

This Hatteras 53 Classic was built by the Hatteras shipyard in 1979 and launched in 1980. It is very habitable and spacious, ideal as a waterfront secondary residence. The interior woodwork is in solid mahogany. Very large flybridge, all sun loungers are new. Aft swim platform in teak.

Main characteristics of the aft cabin motor yachts: the 53’ is the most successful mid-size motor yacht ever built by the Hatteras shipyard with over 600 units produced in various configurations and layouts from 1971 to 1989. This classic motor yacht owes its great popularity to its excellent craftsmanship, spacious layout, and excellent seafaring qualities.

Its accommodations are spacious, its two Detroit 8V71 TI engines (turbocharged diesel engines with intercooler, with a power of 2 X 420 HP) are reliable and robust, making it an ideal yacht for an extended cruise or very comfortable life on board. You will be amazed inside by the mahogany woodwork and its original equipment.

    Interior Layout

The interior of the vessel at deck level is arranged with a helm station at the bow and a salon at the stern. The aft deck is accessible via hinged wooden and glass doors located behind the salon. A curved teak stairway, to starboard and forward of the helm station, leads to a custom galley area.

    • Forward Cabin: Forward and below the galley is the forward cabin with two single bunk beds and a storage closet to starboard prepared to receive a washing machine, as well as a shelf and the head to port.
    • Guest Cabin: Aft and below the galley, a longitudinal corridor extends aft between the engine rooms, with the guest cabin, configured with two single beds side by side and a storage closet, to port. To starboard are the guest heads.
    • Main Cabin: The corridor ends at the main cabin, arranged with a queen-size island bed located in the middle, the head forward and to starboard. The engine rooms are located to port and starboard, next to the corridor.

    Salon and Pilot House

The main salon and pilot house are easily accessible either through the hinged teak doors of the aft deck, or through the pilot house area forward via the starboard and port sliding doors of the side decks leading to the bow of the vessel. Entering the spacious mahogany salon, you will be immediately impressed by the magnificent woodwork and natural light thanks to 360 degrees of windows (port, starboard, forward, and aft).

    • Two large sofas/salon to port
    • Convertible sofa into a double bed to starboard

The pilot house is forward and open to the main salon and at the same level: central helm station with complete engine controls, gauges, and electronics. Entry to starboard towards the curved teak stairway leading to the galley and lower deck with the (3) cabins and heads, as well as the engine room.

    Cabins

    • Main Cabin: The spacious main cabin is aft and at the end of the lower deck stairway and includes the following: king-size island bed located transversely and against the port side with storage drawers underneath and a vanity. Ensuite bathroom of the master suite.
    • Guest Cabin: Large midship cabin with 2 twin beds side by side, bathroom located to port opposite the guest cabin in the middle of the vessel.
    • Other Guest Cabin: Located forward of the galley area, another guest cabin with 2 single bunk beds to starboard, private entry to the adjoining guest bathroom forward.

    Flybridge

The Flybridge is accessible from the lower aft deck via a stainless steel ladder with teak steps through a fiberglass hatch with an upper opening. Upper helm station in the center with a surrounding rail and a windshield at the front of the flybridge area. The upper helm station of this Hatteras 53 has complete engine controls, gauges, and electronics. The accessible engine rooms are conveniently located to port and starboard of the lower stairway.
