HATTERAS 53 for Sale Used
Information Provided by the Owner
I am selling my Hatteras 53 Classic built by the Hatteras shipyard in 1979 and launched in 1980. It is very livable and spacious, ideal as a second home on the water. The interior woodwork is in solid mahogany. Very large flybridge, all sun loungers are new. Aft swim platform in teak.
Main characteristics of the aft cabin motor yachts: the 53’ is the most successful medium-sized motor yacht ever built by the Hatteras shipyard with more than 600 units manufactured in various configurations and layouts from 1971 to 1989. This classic motor yacht owes its great popularity to its excellent build quality, spacious layout, and seaworthiness.
Its accommodations are spacious, its two Detroit 8V71 TI engines (turbocharged diesel engines with intercooler with a power of 2 X 420 HP) reliable and robust, make it an ideal yacht for extended cruising or a very comfortable life on board. You will be amazed inside by the mahogany woodwork and its original equipment.
Interior Layout
The interior of the vessel at deck level is arranged with a pilot station at the bow and a lounge at the stern. The aft deck is accessible via swinging wooden and glass doors located behind the lounge. A curved teak staircase, to starboard and forward of the pilot station, leads to a customized galley area.
Salon and Pilothouse
The main salon and pilothouse are easily accessible either through the swinging teak doors of the aft deck, or through the pilothouse area forward via the starboard and port sliding doors of the side decks that lead to the bow of the vessel. Upon entering the spacious salon in solid mahogany, you will be immediately impressed by the beautiful woodwork and natural light thanks to 360 degrees of windows (port, starboard, forward, and aft).
The pilothouse is forward and open to the main salon and at the same level: central pilot station with complete engine controls, gauges, and electronics. Entry to starboard towards the curved teak staircase leading to the galley and lower deck with the (3) cabins and bathrooms, as well as the engine room.
Cabins
Flybridge
The Flybridge is accessible from the lower aft deck via a stainless steel ladder with teak steps through a fiberglass hatch with an upper opening. Upper pilot station in the center with a surrounding railing and a windshield at the front of the flybridge area. The upper pilot station of this Hatteras 53 has complete engine controls, gauges, and electronics. Accessible engine rooms are conveniently located to port and starboard of the lower staircase.
Maintenance and Warning
Hull cleaning, antifouling, and new anodes 2025. Possibility for non-French resident buyers to keep the English flag at little cost.
Warning: A buyer must ask their agents or experts to examine the details that the buyer wishes to validate. This vessel is offered subject to: prior sale, price change, or withdrawal without notice.
