Owner's comments
A Iconic Riva 42 Malibu
I am proud to own a Riva 42 Malibu, an iconic model from Riva. This boat is not only a symbol of luxury and performance but also a rare collectible item. Indeed, only 20 units were produced worldwide, and mine is number 17.
Technical Specifications
My Riva 42 Malibu is equipped with two Cummins 2x320 HP TD engines, in excellent condition with only 1380 hours of use, which is minimally evolved. The transmission is via propeller shafts, ensuring optimal reliability. With a length of 13.10 m and a width of 3.85 m, this boat offers a spacious and comfortable area.
The fuel tank has a capacity of 920 liters, while the freshwater tank can hold 320 liters, ideal for extended trips at sea.
Equipment and Amenities
The flybridge of my Riva 42 Malibu is equipped with a helm station and sunbathing seating in good condition. A foldable stainless steel bimini is installed, without a tarp. The sunshade on the entire windshield is in usable condition. The sunbathing area on the bow is protected by a perforated tarp, in usable condition, although part of the seating is missing, the other part is in very good condition.
Inside, you will find 2 cabins: a master with 1 bed for 2 people and a guest with 2 single beds. The interior saloon includes a large corner sofa in leather, a convertible table, a helm station, and a cabinet with television. The kitchen is equipped with 2 fridges, a 2-burner stove, and a sink. The bathroom has a shower, electric toilets (new), and a vanity unit.
The boat is also equipped with a 12V, 220V electrical panel and a 7 kW generator with only 26 hours of use. You will also find a hi-fi system, a VHF radio, and 2 large-screen navigation computers in very good condition: one for the main helm station, the other for the helm station on the flybridge.
Maintenance and Recent Work
I have carried out several recent works to keep my Riva 42 Malibu in perfect condition. In June 2024, I replaced the master cabin mattress, made a protective cover for the cabin and flybridge helm stations, completely redone the teak of the passageway, and emptied and replaced all engine filters, fluids, and external and engine anodes. In February 2025, I replaced the complete electric toilet, the airtight seals of the sliding windows, and the water group and expansion tank. In May 2025, I carried out a hull cleaning and underwater maintenance.
Why This Boat is Interesting
The Riva 42 Malibu is particularly interesting for several reasons. First, it is a collector's item, with only 20 units produced worldwide, making it a rare and precious piece. Additionally, it is equipped with two Cummins 2x320 HP TD engines in excellent condition, with only 1380 hours of use, which is minimally evolved. Furthermore, it features a 7 kW generator, a flybridge with helm station and sunbathing seating, and numerous luxury amenities such as a large corner sofa in leather, an equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a new electric toilet. Finally, the recent work carried out ensures that the boat is in perfect condition and ready to sail.
