Technical specifications
My OVNI 43 is a full-keel aluminium lifting-keel yacht by ALUBAT. This is a 2-cabin version with a large aft locker on the starboard side. The boat was built in 1992 and measures 13.00 metres in overall length, with a hull length of 12.20 metres and a waterline length of 10.30 metres. Its maximum beam is 4.30 metres, and it has a variable draft of 0.80 m to 2.50 m. The air draft is 16.90 metres, and it is certified for 10/12 people maximum in Category 1.
Layout and comfort
My OVNI 43 features a convertible saloon area into a double berth and red upholstery in good condition. It can accommodate up to 6 berths. The headroom is 1.90 metres throughout the boat, making it very spacious.
It has a large forward cabin with a queen-sized bed, a wardrobe, a dressing table, and an en-suite head with a shower stall and sink. The large aft cabin to port also includes a head with sink, marine toilet with black water tank, and a wardrobe.
The L-shaped galley to starboard is equipped with a 100-litre fridge with cold plate system, ample storage, a round double stainless steel sink, and pressurised hot and cold water with mixer tap. A gimbaled ENO gas cooker with oven and Eberspächer forced-air heating complete this space.
The floor has been varnished (with some signs of wear), the lining has been fully refurbished, and the portholes are watertight and not crazed.
Engine
My OVNI 43 is fitted with a YANMAR 4JH2E engine with 48 HP. The engine is installed with a direct shaft drive and a 12V bipolar circuit. It has run for 2,454 hours (ongoing). The propulsion propeller is a 3-blade folding MAX PROP, and the fuel capacity is 260 litres across 2 diesel tanks. The heat exchanger, alternator, and engine mounts (silent blocks) were replaced in 2023.
Energy and electrical systems
My boat is energy self-sufficient and prepared for long-distance cruising. It is equipped with a battery charger, 4 AGM batteries (replaced in 2023), a VICTRON Energy charge monitor and controller (navigation station panel), and a full electrical panel at the navigation station. A SAMLEX EUROPE GI-32 galvanic isolator ensures the electrical isolation of the vessel.
For renewable energy, it has 2 solar panels on the arch and a D-400 ATMB marine wind turbine on the arch. An MPPT charge controller and a Fisher PANDA 3.5 KW generator complete this system.
Navigation and electronics
My OVNI 43 is equipped with a FURUNO M 1715 radar on the aft arch, a RAYMARINE autopilot, and a RAYMARINE autopilot repeater on the wheel steering console. A GPS is also installed for easier navigation.
