Owner's comments
Description of the Oyster 435
I am proud to present my Oyster 435, a bluewater cruising ketch with a center cockpit and bridge deck salon, equipped with a long keel. This used boat is ideal for offshore sailing, thanks to its robust design and exceptional performance.
Technical Specifications
My Oyster 435 underwent a West Epoxy System treatment below the waterline in the United States in 1996. The teak decks were replaced in 2000, providing an elegant and durable finish.
Recent Renovations
In January/February 2005, a complete renovation was carried out in Thailand. The work included replacing the Plexiglas on the opening panels, renovating the plumbing, and renovating the aft head. The teak panels were also replaced where the opening panels had caused discoloration.
History of the Oyster 435
My Oyster 435 has a rich and varied history. Here are the main stages of its journey:
In 2010, the vessel was moved from the RCYC Cape Town to Manten Marina, Vaaldam. It underwent a major hull cleaning at Manten Marina, then was transported to Richards Bay. It then sailed to Mozambique, Simon's Town, and Richards Bay.
Why Choose this Oyster 435?

Based on the Isle of Wight, the shipyard quickly established itself as a leader in the construction of high-end boats. Oyster yachts are renowned for their build quality, elegant design, and exceptional performance. The shipyard has seen significant growth over the years, with models like the Oyster 435 that have marked the history of recreational boating.
The Oyster 435 Model
The Oyster 435 is an iconic model from the Oyster shipyard, produced between 1988 and 1995. This bluewater cruising ketch was designed to offer comfortable and secure sailing offshore. With its center cockpit and bridge deck salon, the Oyster 435 is ideal for long passages. Its robust design and exceptional performance have made it a popular choice among experienced sailors.
