The Wauquiez CENTURION 47 is a model designed by Ed Dubois and built by the Wauquiez shipyard. This sailboat is renowned for its performance, robustness, and elegance. It is well-suited for offshore sailing, particularly close-hauled.
Preparation and Improvements
The sailboat underwent a thorough revision and major improvements between 2019 and 2024:
Recent work: replacement of the teak deck, change of the portholes, overhaul of the standing rigging, and complete engine revision.
Modern equipment: new Fisher Panda generator (2024) and upgrade of the NKE electronics.
Interior Layout
The sailboat features three cabins: an aft owner's cabin, a forward double cabin, and a crew cabin. It also includes a saloon, a well-equipped galley, and two heads.
Equipment and Performance
The sailboat is equipped with a revised Lombardini 60 HP engine, a full set of sails (mainsail and genoa from 2017, staysail, storm jib, and spinnaker revised), and modern navigation instruments (NKE suite, AIS, autopilot).
History
Formerly owned by artist Philippe Laville, this sailboat has sailed from the French coasts to the lagoons of New Caledonia, via New Zealand and Tahiti.
